Mojave 3 - Paradise (Boston) permalink

Official rating: 65 - 7 no Rachel points = 58

The Dise was relatively empty, which was nice, but a bad omen. First and foremost, I never realized how basic Mojave 3’s music was until I saw Neil playing mostly barre chords, and the one-note solos on the keyboard, tame guitar work, and basslines. It was like a really stylish high school band with a lead singer who lives to be stylish. Also, not having Rachel Goswell and having stand-in tour members made for a boring show.

Neil’s vocals were crazy low for most of the show, which numbed everyone a bit. The setlist was pretty much the same as in Toronto, which tons of info about can be found here. There were some good moments, but mostly, the show just seemed to slip on by with a faint pulse.
