Actually, the image of the painting is priceless, but the painting itself is of little market value. It cannot be publicly sold or traded and anyone holding it can't boast of "owning" it. And knowing it is stolen, would give the possessor, it seems to me, little comfort. The most logical conclusion is it will be held for ransom, or will surface in a hundred years or so, with the provenance untraceable-only then to return to Oslo.
