I first caught wind of Grandaddy when they opened for Coldplay in Dallas in 2000. Between the sound and the video, they blew my mind and I immediately latched on. They easily stole the show . It was an elec-ternative revolution in my world .
These sentimental jokers from Modesto won me over and I had to hear everything they put out. Sophtware Slump is easily one of my favorite albums of all time. Sumday occupied my cd player for months. I got every album and EP I could get my hands on. I even have an orange Grandaddy sticker on my car bumper.
The other day when I listened to “Wives of Farmers”, it felt nostalgic, but I didn’t think it’d be this nostalgic. I still want “So You’ll Aim Toward the Sky” played at my funeral.
It breaks my heart that they’re ending it, but at least they’re giving us a going away album, I guess. I am definitely not OK with their decay. Start growing your protest beards, please.

So, so depressing. Can I have their old video screen?
