Who doesn’t love an exploding whale? It’s one of nature’s most majestic events. One of the world’s largest beasts gets turned into 1000′s of tiny beasts. Remember from 4th grade? That’s a physical reaction.

Doves – Avalon

As solid as ever, our boys hit up Avalon for the 2nd time this year. It wasn’t as electric as the previous show, but nearly as good anyway, and it’s comforting to know we can always count on them for a good night.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – T.T. the Bear’s
Score: 66 out of 100
Their stage presence was relatively shy and deer-in-the-headlight-ish, but overall, they halfway rocked the sweatbox. The music’s just a tad too simple to be very impressive live.
Sigur Ros – Boston Opera House
Score: 100,000,000,000 out of 100
Best venue/band combination ever. Sigur Ros filled the entire hall up with slowly-crescendoing waves of curves and crashes. Pretty much unbelievable. Still reeling.
13 & God – MFA
Score: 83 out of 100
Front row, center. Crappy acoustics, but enthusiastic antics from doseone kept us all on the edge of our seats. Damn doseone pulled my sandal off during the show. They played Notwist’s “Pick Up the Phone”, which made the encore pure pleasure.
If you’ve ever been here before, you’ll notice that it doesn’t look the same. Don’t worry, I’m gonna do it all over, shogun-style.
