"get behind me, scalpers!"As most of you have heard by now, the White Stripes are touring in support of the new album, and this includes two shows in September in Boston. They’re playing at the Opera House (WTF?!?), which has an old-fashioned opera-style seating arrangement.

And scalpers love to take advantage of it.

Here’s the deal: The pit center starts with Rows AAA-CCC, and BBB-CCC on the left/right. We’re in Row AA center: the actual 4th row.

Several scalpers on eBay have tickets listed in Row DD, which they are claiming are “4th row tickets”, and are charging several hundred dollars for $47.50 tickets. Same thing for the BB/”2nd row”.

DD is really Row 6 or 7, depending, and BB is Row 4 or 5, which is extremely clear on the seating chart. One scalper even posted a link to the Opera House’s seating chart on his auction.

So they’re obviously misleading bidders, intentionally or not, and it’s gonna suck if we’re surrounded by a bunch of disappointed idiots at the show all bummed out and whiny. So buyer beware, and please, everyone send the sellers a note saying what shady losers they are.

Check out this rip-off, this rip-off, and this rip-off.

Follow-up: the first seller fixed his auction description
Follow-up: the third seller fixed his auction description

I guess inflammatory, attacking emails really do work.

  1. I know that C4 and I are gonna particularly enjoy laughing at any asshole who paid $500 for seats that are 3 rows behind ones we paid $47.50 for. I don’t know about C4, but I’m planning on copping at least one drumstick, and a quick grab of Meg’s left breastisist during the show.

4th row center in the house, bitches!

  2. If ever there were an occasion to have “I payed $47.50 for my ticket, bitches!” tattooed on the back of your neck, this is it.

  3. Better than paying $300. Plus, we could’ve scalped our extras, too
