Rangoli – Allston, MA permalink

Official rating: 64

We had been meaning to do their all-you-can-eat lunch for about 2 years, even though the place is 50 feet from ours. So, Ms. Synapticblur and I made our move for dinner.

When we walked in, the place was roughly 105F, thanks to some extremely busted heating system. Ice cube lifespan was 4 seconds.

But some guy just turned the whole thing off and we were fine since there was plenty of heat to last our entire meal.

We got an order of samosas, which are potatoes and peas turnovers. They’re the Nicholas Cage of the appetizer world: bald and old.

Rangoli: Mamma mia!

I got a minced lamb entree, which came with deliciously typical lentils and ho!, white rice. She got pink chicken with veggies, yogurt, and rice. Boy, were they above average. The mint sauce worked well on it.

I’ve had a theory that Indian animals have less flavorful meat than American ones, but someone pointed out that Indian restaurants in America get their meats from America too, so I’m not sure what the difference is.

Do they steam their meat? Whatever, it’s still good.

Yankees, Ugly Randy agree to 2-year deal

Dandy RandyNow that Randy Johnson is a member of the most hated team in Christendom, is it OK to publicly make fun of his disturbing face?

Either way, I suspect that if he ever had children, they would all have a hard time believing that he wasn’t the monster under their beds.

I predict that with a little Steinbrenner magik, we will hear the headline “Randy Johnson undergoes experimental plastic surgery” sometime this season.

Only in Louisiana
would the 3rd line of a news article start off, “You’re looking at…”

Anyway, once the 8-ballas started writing those poems about the Preps, it was full-scale call to arms for the 8-balla clan to rise up and conquer their snobby online oppressors.

Who knew it would escalate to such a killing spree?

Andrea Yates Murder Conviction Overturned

As with most legal proceedings in the United States, this decision was based on the show, Law & Order. Yates’ triple-murder trial was based on a particular episode that doesn’t even exist. And now she’s free to go home and drown the rest of her kids. Oh wait, all five are dead already. But that’s ok.

American may match Delta changes

Finally, the bloated airline industry can start to correct itself financially, instead of just folding because of crashes and explosions. And btw, I went on Delta’s new stupidly-named Simplifares site and found no bargains whatsoever.

We Got Game: Celtics vs. Hornets permalink

So for part of my Xmas present, we went to see tha Celtics play the hapless Nawlins Hornets at der Fleetcenter.

Highlights of the game included Gary Payton missing his only game of the year, Ricky Davis’ monster fro, and two explosive 3-second calls. I love this game.

Tony Allen was cutting down the lane and got a scoop from Banks or someone, and threw down one of the flailinest wild dunks I’ve seen since Isiah Thomas, during which he even ripped Rodney Rogers’ headband off. Easily worth the price of admission alone.

Since Baron Davis couldn’t score 112 points by himself, the Whorenets got smacked by our beloved C’s, prompting me to storm the court. More on that later.

The entire deal was 100% excellent, except for the idiot ahead of us with thundersticks randomly beating them together throughout the game. Rest assured that if I could afford an extra $6 crappy beer, I would’ve dumped it on his head, per Boston tradition.

Oh, and P-deuce had a tripdub. Apples.
