Trefoil & Triangle Contest permalink

If you can accurately explain the significance of the combinational symbol, beyond simple architectural design, you will win 1 juicy jewel of flavor, Ring Pop.

The trefoil and triangle are common Christian, Pagan, and Masonic symbols.

The trefoil and triangle together, in architecture, are found in Federalist and Greek Revival styles, and are not a design element of the Gothic Revival movement.

Good luck.

  1. Because the gothic designs use a quatrefoil. Where’s my ring pop bitch?

  2. Way to go, you’ve successfully completely not answered the question.

    Focus.

I’m talking about the significance of the trefoil & triangle in the very obvious pictures up there.

I was just pointing out, for your sake, that these merely have no gothic design significance.

Shove your quatrefoil up your clovered window ass.

  3. Alright, I had to bust out the big guns for this one…

“I have no idea what the symbol means. My guess is that it has much more to do with the people living in those buildings than with the architect (architects don’t really will their brand or sign or something on their buildings). Especially because of the symbol’s presence in the cemetary, I would bet that it has specific Christian affiliations. Perhaps it was a symbol that particular people of a certain faith lived in those similar homes - kind of like a Kerry or Bush sign in front of your house now - to indicate the owners’ belief systems.”

Quote from Karen Lewis, Architecture Professor at UK, formerly of Harvard.

  4. I’m sure the specific beliefs that the people had involved torture, midgets, and whips, judging by the design’s alignment

  5. I believe that secret society is still torturing midgets here to this very day…

  6. Dust off that Ring Pop biotch!

The trefoil & triangle is a combinational symbol of the christian trinity.

It’s meaning in the above architecture is simply a way that people with the same beliefs could identify each other. The triangle points in different directions on the homes it is on, versus the cemetery because it shows that man is either earthbound, or heavenbound.
