Bush speaks about hope and tells America, we can do better than we did during the last 4 years
Last night in New York City the President spoke to remind America that there are some things missing in the NYC skyline and that he is getting the hang of being president and deserves a second chance.
Some notable items included:
“Because we acted, our economy is growing again and creating jobs, and nothing will hold us back.”
- Dubya is actually the first president since WWII to have negative job growth
“To create jobs, my plan will encourage investment and expansion by restraining federal spending, reducing regulation and making the tax relief permanent.”
- Isn’t Dubya the guy who gave us this giant deficit?? Clinton had a budget surplus.
“To create jobs, we will make our country less dependent on foreign sources of energy.”
- If you are in a wildlife reserve in Alaska, this means there may be some drilling coming to you.
“To make health care more affordable and accessible, we must pass medical liability reform now.”
- Using the lawsuit myth to help the HMO’s save money.
“We must strengthen Social Security by allowing younger workers to save some of their taxes in a personal account, a nest egg you can call your own and government can never take away.”
- Unlike Social Security which has been his slush fund.
“The army of a free Iraq is fighting for freedom.”
- Nope that is still us.
“I respect every soldier, from every country, who serves beside us in the hard work of history.”
- So those ads about the Swift Boats? what was that?
“During our emotional visit one of the Iraqi men used his new prosthetic hand to slowly write out, in Arabic, a prayer for God to bless America.”
- was that in Abu Ghraib?
Well you get the picture.. he then went on to taunt Iran and said you are next..
