when a 14-year-old shoots his family to death, the first question that comes to mind is usually “why?”, but in this case, i think the question should be “why did his dad beat him with a shovel and strangle him over the 4th of July?”

the father who got his, predictably named Delbert, had been notorious around the community for beating and abusing his kids. which, of course, brings us to the question of fault. the father, certainly. the killer/son, perhaps. the community for not stepping in, actually none whatsoever except for the massive, lingering guilt they deserve. i hope everyone that knew them or lived in their town get in a giant bitchslap daisy chain and smack themselves.

from this day forward, i vow to never commit a crime in India. nevermind the overcrowded rape-enhanced prisons, the disturbing array of death penalties (heart-ripping-out notwithstanding), or the animal-filled pits, i just don’t want to ever get arrested by a cop with a large moustache. indian cops with large moustaches are the equivalents of american cops with tazers. i won’t get into any more details here…
