just because we don’t get to correct the Associated Press as much as we’d like, everything counts.

in the story about the nick berg hostage ordeal which ultimately ended in his death by head removal, the AP reports:
“The video is of poor quality, and its time stamp seems to show an 11-hour lapse between when the assailants finish their statement and push Berg down, to when they behead him. That suggests a delay between those two portions of tape posted on the Web site.”
but upon further inspection of the still photos from the tape (link - dont worry, it’s tame), the difference in the video timeframe seems to be because of the use of 2 cameras, and in fact, the beheading did not take 11 hours.
it seems this jackalope reporter didn’t realize how completely ridiculous an 11-hour beheading would be. 8 hours maybe. but 11? give me a break
thanks to jallow for pointing it out.

Obviously Jallow and C4 have WAAAY too much time on their hands…
I’ll be sure to phone my AP contacts and let them know about their screw-up. Maybe we can get a correction issued and attributed to SB.com, so we can increase traffic to this jackalope-infested site.
