That's no VW beetle, it's a citroen deux cheveaux. The french made Ferdinand Porsche (the same guy who designed the beetle) design a car for them while they had him illegally imprisoned following WWII. They eventually released him after he designed a car for them and his children sold a significant amount of his share in VW/Audi to give the french a, umm, "donation."
