FAA greenlights private spaceship
it’s coming, folks. space tourism. knocking on the doorstep. pack your bags…
Paul Allen’s project, SpaceShipOne, got a good ego boost yesterday when the FAA allowed further development to occur on the project, setting it up well in the competition for the X-prize (link), which is an entrepreneurial competition that awards $10 million to the first successful spaceship flight that gets 3 people into space, return safely, and repeat it in less than 2 weeks.
apparently the competition is heating up into a microcosm of pure capitalism. time to start earning my frequent flyer miles. see you suckas on uranus.
Beastie Boys slam Bush on new album
is anything more cliche’ in the music industry these days than to criticize Dubya? don’t get me wrong, i’m all for criticizing the guy, but now that it’s a full-blown fad, it’s getting too cheesy for its own good, just like folk music.
the beasties themselves have been pulling this routine for the last 4 years and it’s about as original as their “signature” crappy, broken-record beat
