Suspicious permalink

did someone set all of my clocks forward again last night?

this monday should never happen.

can’t we make the day after the time switch only come once every 4 years?

Police Chief Seeks Suspension For Officer Who Shot Developmentally Disabled Teen

let it be said, the Denver police department doesn’t tolerate any nonsense. sending a message loud and clear to his fellow 5-0’s, Chief Gerry Whitman put his foot down on officer James Turney when he recommended Turney be suspended for a whole 20 days without pay for shooting and killing and whimsically ending the life of a disabled kid holding a knife.

in other Colorado police news, the same chief is recommending another 4 days of suspension for the same guy for threatening to kill his mother-in-law.

it gives me nothing but hope for the future of cop corruption to hear that our cops continue to escape relevant punishment for any of their deeds, keeping the 5000 year tradition alive.

Hitler loses honorary citizenship

in what may be the biggest attack on Hitler’s ego since his own suicide, the Austrian town of Haslach has finally reacted to WWII. well, the fools didn’t realize he was still technically an honorary citizen until now. that’s their story anyway.

the German town of Bitterfeld is the only place left that still bestows such a prominent title upon Hitler. weirdos.

it never really occurred to me that towns do this sort of thing, so if any place in the world was to grant me honorary citizenship, of course i’d want it to be Vlorė, Albania

A descriptive account of my drive home (this bird has flown) permalink

ok so i just drove home from lexington and about halfway through the drive, i decided to just go down commonwealth ave into the city and eh, maybe get lost who knows. not like i’d die or something.

anyway, at 11:21pm Sunday night on my car clock, 12:21 E?T in real life, i hit the intersection near the harvard colosseum thing. there’s your timeframe. it was cold, slightly windy, and slightlier rainier. that basically means i couldn’t see out of my windshield without some solid windshield wiper action and some defrostos.

the soundtrack (actual) for said drive is at the bottom of this.

the first cool thing that happened was that around the bend before packard’s corner going east i splashed two punks a little bit cause they were standing next to a giant puddle that was basically in the right lane at a random spot in the road, so they probably deserved it. i’ll dedicate that one to cuba.

driving down comm ave, some fool in a minivan in front of me kept speeding up after every light enough to have to stop at all the red lights waiting on him. it was some of the dumbest driving i’d seen in a while, until about 10 minutes later.

for most of the stretch east on comm ave i drove with my legs. it’s pretty enjoyable sometimes cause you can fold your arms or fix your bowtie or make fists and knock on your knees for no reason. just on the straightaways by the way………….s….

being behind that minivan i just mentioned made me wonder if he thought i was driving like a cop at all just like some other car on route 2 did, but i dont think i was. i try not to unnecessarily freak people out like that.

when i was east of kenmore on mass ave, where there are about 8 billion cross-streets ahead of you, i started noticing 2 cars on the lane right of me, so at every red light, one would pull even with me, and since it was a truck, it could look down in to my car and that freaked me out. what if they’re like looking at my hands or something creepy…

so all along comm ave are sidewalk lights that when all lined up are pretty poetic, and it made me think of a picture of amsterdam at nighti once saw, maybe on a puzzle, that looked similar to this but amsterdam also had a ton more action going on than just the sidewalk lights. i think it had a big lit up theatre, a couple of gigolos strolling the pavement, and some knife fight probably. i couldnt really tell what the group in the distance was doing.

since it’s like…pretty much impossible to see the lines on roads when there’s anywhere between, say, .001mm-5m of precipitation on the surface at nighttime, cant we get freaking backlights or some iridescent chemical or something? ugh, it’s like driving back in the 1800’s on dirt in some crappy old west town.

around the first turn around the common, i drove by the loew’s theatre and it reminded me of the time i saw manny ramirez there. he sat in the row in front of me the whole time i guess, and when we all walked out i blankly looked at him in the eye. the whole flashback made me laugh.

this is the worse driving part. right after that, i was behind a car driving past loew’s but some jackass was driving along the common in the left lane towards us. it didn’t freak me out cause they just looked ridiculously lost but probably going to die or kill, just not me. i had a good angle and could dart out of the way if any crazy stuff went down.

on the west side of the common coming back, i pulled behind an “emergency response” minivan. i wasn’t sure whether or not it was a hospital car or a random company that picks dying people up or what. do those companies even exist? is that legal? i’m not sure how i feel about it. either way, it’s pretty sketchy, you know?

the citgo sign wasn’t lit up and it felt like it was a big gorilla sleeping and grinning. peaceful i suppose.

right before kenmore square i saw some car behind me get pulled over. i didnt really see it until it pretty much happened, so i didn’t have time to randomly panic if i thought it was me. if it was me, i’d've been like “look, jolly roger, you know as well as i that this town aint big enough for the both of you. your family knows that any decision you make will be in the best interests of everyone, so don’t lose so much sleep. but don’t let your intentions get you confused.” by saying that, i’d probably confuse the cop pretty easily, especially if i subconsciously help him by ending on the word “confused” mit emphasis.

around the t stop for the first stop on the B line after kenmore, i cant remember the street, but anyway, i was like “hm i’m going home” and thought about if this really felt like a home to me, and i wasn’t sure, but that’s not as scary as much as it is fun.

i also thought for second how the 11:21 on my clock was accurate central time, which is where i spent a good portion of my life so i was just wondering what people on central time were doing at this time of night on a sunday. probably tipping something.

anyway, my point is that college athletes should not be paid.
