Workers accidentally felled historic tree

once again, these fine german citizens have opted to blame their superiors for their tragic mistakes.

the thing i don’t really get is that…if these guys are professional treechoppers, how could they mistake a 500 year old oak for a 5 year old ash?

conspiracy? age discrimination? a pot of gold inside the tree? probably all three.

Laid-off worker claims jackpot

could anything be more perfect? maybe a bikini-clad heidi klum working the counter of an ice cream parlor in maui. but hardly anything else

Scoring by round:

3rd round = 5 points
4th round = 10 points
Final Four = 15 points
Championship game = 25 points

Upset Special:
For the first two rounds, upsets (lower seed defeats a higher seed) are worth double points. i.e. if BYU (12 seed) defeats Syracuse (5 seed) in the first round and you picked it correctly, you’ll get 2 points for that game, not just 1.

Opening Round:
Don’t worry about the Lehigh/Florida A&M opening round game - it won’t count.

Tiebreaker:
In the case of a tie, the entry with the most correct Final Four teams will win, and if still tied, the entry with the most correct first round games will win.

Any questions, email at chrisATsynapticblurDOTcom or ask someone who knows.

The Winner will be posted here on synapticblur.com or you’ll hear about it somehow, trust me.

March Madness Pt. 2 permalink

I just officially printed my bracket out at 8:36 AM Tuesday Morning.

as I quickly glance over this junk, i spot some extraordinarily ripe upsets. but i digress.

It appears that the toughest overall region IS……drumroll….

Atlanta

and the easiest overall is

St. Louis

what does that mean for you? well, that would mean that the highest few seeds have a greater chance of advancing to the final four than the lower level seeds. get it, paco?

A few tourney notes

-Duke will handle it’s business in Raleigh 100% for sure
-Texas Tech will not win a game in Phoenix
-Miles Brand will be streaking during the Kansas/Ill.-Chic. game on Friday
-No team has the mascot, “The Steaming Gorillas”

A couple of tips real quick:

-Location makes a difference
-5/12 is the most frequent upset
-If you have all #1’s in the Final Four, you’re screwed
