Monthly Archives: January 2004
ah, sweet sweet MLK Day.
to celebrate the good Doctor’s legacy, we packed up and headed to Mohegan Sun yesterday, all to be thrown out for a little ID problem. it’s good to get a reality check once in a while and see how gambling has changed peoples’ lives for the better. all of those happy people have that magical look in their eye like “wow look at all the flashing, hypnotic lights, i feel great” and “i wonder if i can pour my blood into a jar and trade it for more $5 chips?”
i guess i need not mention that the pats are in the Superbowl. i feel good about this team. that’s all i’m going to say right now. you know this means a superbowl party is in the works….stay tuned
i’m also going to see OK Go at the Middle East on 2/3 for whatever reason. it should be decent. 10 bucks, hey.
Today. Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers this morning. Then becoming partly sunny. Very windy at times and bitterly cold. Highs 7 to 12 above. Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts around 45 mph. Chance of snow 20 percent. Wind chill values as low as 40 below this morning.
Tonight. Mostly clear and very windy at times. Lows 5 to 10 above. Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph at times.

it’s -6 with a -32 wind chill as i type this. boston is one of those places that makes you wish you didn’t have a body. XX(
today, on the way to work, i drove through 16 traffic lights, 14 of which were GREEN. this is possibly the best ratio in the history of driving. if you want to send me congratulations, feel free.
so anyway, at least we’ve got a 3-day weekend coming up. if my history classes serve me correctly, MLK Jr. was the roman god of fire, so we should be expecting warmer temperatures any day now.
i’m on vacation today. yey. :>>
my wall art is coming along nicely. iffin’ i ever get a digital camera, you will know what the bleep i’m talking about.

today i bought tickets for The Notwist (2/5), The Shins (2/13), and The Walkmen (2/27) at the middle east and roxy and middle east.
everyone who reads this should come with. B)

between the ice in my shoes, the random high fives, the wind, and the score, this was 88|
most of the action was on my end of the field. i could see straight down the goal line. the first TD and the field goal were at our end. seeing the field goal from the side always makes it way more dramatic. it looked good from the beginning…phew…
…..NEXT!……..
US gets first faith-based prison
sick, yo. now florida’s born-again christians can get even lazier and just chill out in prison on the government’s tab while “converting” each other…
“Later, Bush told the inmates: ‘I can’t think of a better place to reflect on the awesome love of our lord Jesus than to be here at Lawtey Correctional. God bless you.’”
apparently there are 26 different “faiths” practiced in this prison, but of course this bastard gives props to JC and no one else.
Gunman Dressed as Giant Chicken Robs Grocery Shop
once again showing why the scots have the 3rd highest giant chicken crime rate in europe.
from the weather channel:
“Record cold is likely in New England this weekend.
Boston may see temperatures below zero for the first time since mid January 1994.”
yes, it IS that cold. on the way to my car this morning, my hair froze and even a slight papercut i’ve got on my finger starting hurting like a duck in chinatown.
if i were a dog outside right now, i’d growl at a hobo until he gave me his cardboard box, and then casually share a bottle of mad dog 20/20 with the gent
